In part III of The Brief Wondrous life of Oscar Wao which contains the final two chapters (7&8)
talks about Oscar in his current state mentally and physically. Diaz stated how Oscar lost tons
of weight and seemed more “at peace” of comfortable with himself now. Diaz also says how Oscar
stills maintained writing and reading like always since that was kind of his “thing” to do.
The part that stands out to me the most is how his love interest got him killed by government
officials from the Caribbean who didn’t like his persistent letters of affection towards the female.
Chapter 8 basically sums of what happened to everyone after burying Oscar and what happened
to the narrator.
